A tablet lying flat beside your keyboard has to be picked up before you can read anything, and otherwise it is just in the way. In this stand it stands upright next to your screen, where you can see it at a glance.
The plate is the same walnut as the riser, with a steel clamp. It grips the edge, so you can move it along the riser or take it off entirely.

It clamps to the edge
The clamp grips the plate of the riser, so nothing has to be screwed on and you can move it to another spot whenever you want. It also holds on a plain desktop.

Frequently asked questions
Can I put a laptop in it?
A thin laptop does fit physically, but in practice it does not work well. This stand is made for a tablet. If you want your laptop upright beside your screen, look at the laptop dock.
Does it fit the small riser too?
Yes. It clamps to the edge of the plate rather than being screwed on, so it fits the 65 cm riser as well as the 107 cm one.
